The Roy Ayers support was fantastic. What a totally cool man! He came and had a chat with us before the gig just to say ‘Hi’ and wish us luck. He played up a storm and we had another chance to speak to him when we headed backstage afterwards. I was in the middle of complimenting him on . . . → Read More: Oh yeah, and another thing…

So much happening right now and I’m so confused by the fact that Hugh has actually been on the blog so all I can think to do is tell you about the upcoming tour.
We have five dates so far:
It kicks off in The Waterhole, Amsterdam on Saturday 14th July
La Fleche D’Or Paris, Tuesday . . . → Read More: The European Tour

It’s a question which I’ve been mulling over for some time now. When he confirmed the Skye Music Festival was on we said, ‘Great! Why don’t you make that your first post.’ It wasn’t intended to be a question. He said ‘Great, I’ll do that.’  Â

Or, as busy as Juan the Piranha – a fish noted by his busiest friends for being particularly busy – when a large bleeding cow has fallen in the river. Too graphic? Ah well… how about: as busy as an enormous bumble bee with ADT. Basically, sorry for the break, but we’ve been busy.Â

The lead vocals are in the bag – albeit a very large bag with a large number of takes (which will require to be carefully edited and selected) fighting within it. But they’re done! I just ate a large amount of ice-cream to celebrate not needing to stay off coagulative dairy produce any more. I . . . → Read More: At last… now I can start suffering and write that snyffony.

Wow! Really looking forward to this Roy Ayers gig. How many people get to play support to the guy they’ve named their guitar after, eh? My acoustic is called ‘Roy’ mainly because the badge inside the sound hole says ‘Ayers’. Strangely, up until now no one’s really got the joke. Not that Mr Ayers . . . → Read More: Roy Ayers

Anyone know how to shift that chest/throat infection thingy? I’ve had it since December the 22nd (on and off) and it won’t leave me alone. I thought a measure of fame would be to achieve my first stalker, I just didn’t realise it might only be a virus… The recording is experiencing a temporary hiatus until my . . . → Read More: Frog Chorus

Orange. Or at least it might be. That’s one possible venue for the tour (it’s just South of Lyon – with a very nice Roman Theatre, as I recall.) Frankly the future’s damn busy the way things are looking. We’re starting phase two of the EP recording tonight which involves doing the vocals and . . . → Read More: The future’s bright, the future’s…

Finding it hard to refocus on Christmas after the week of recording up in the Highlands – well, I say a week, actually it ended up being a little under four days given a mystery illness which hit me (one evening) and then Moose (day and a half) and travel issues caused by the relentless wind and . . . → Read More: 4 Recordings and a Tour Date… Santa who?

Great gig last night. The Quantic Soul Orchestra were a top band and very nice guys. A special mention must go to the performance of their Hammond player: that man knows how to sell a solo! Spanky was a tremendous performer and watching her get the crowd singing and giving people who were talking (instead of . . . → Read More: Life enhancing breakdancing
