Well, April already and a very busy month for us as you can see from the gigs page. Hugh made it back in one piece from Canada where he went off-piste Heliboarding (presumably using a helicopter to go down a mountain because a snowboard is just not quite dangerous enough. We’ve asked him to explain but we fell asleep after the first ten minutes because he’d only got out the words ‘helicopter’, ‘hover’, ‘mountain’, ‘guide’ and ‘snowboard’ due to the lengthy vowels necessitated by his ridiculous accent. If ever a man needed to be a musician to express himself…) As gecko 2, Moose and Marty participated in the excellent Spectrum 2 event where they performed between DoPE and Amplifico – pretty much literally. It was a big crowd in a smallish space and lots of fun so cheers to everyone that was there.
You’ll be pleased to know that the promised new songs are starting to come to fruition. We’ve got one up and gigging already (The Doo Doo Song) and the others will be arriving real suddenly. We’re planning to do a little recording this weekend and the results will be available sooner than you might think, although not what you might expect… We’ve also received a request to use some of our music in another short film so watch this space. Ennio Morricone do every film after all, can he? On the subject of audio-visual crossovers, Mike Corbett-Reakes – the guy who did the artwork for ‘Mentum..’ – will be showing his new work upstairs at Cargo for a few days from Thursday, so go and check it out. Hope to see you at one of our gigs this month! Enjoy the sweet showers…
